About Me:
I grew up a Midwesterner, but have spent most of my adult life on the West Coast. I studied chemistry in college and started my career working in a lab doing research, but soon realized I was inspired to work with people directly. Exposure to leading researchers in the field of diabetes and obesity profoundly impacted my perspective on how we focus more on treatment of symptoms rather than prevention or reversal of disease. After studying Nutritional Sciences at the University of Washington, I became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I currently live and work in Eugene-Springfield, Oregon and am doing my best to help others thrive by finding their inner power and resilience to change their diet and lifestyle. I enjoy building community and connecting with my neighbors for a reason, season, or a lifetime. |
My Nutrition Philosophy:
I don't promote any one "diet" or eating pattern; I believe that everyone has to find what works best for them, their body, and their lifestyle at any given time. Health is a way of being, not a goal, and I love to assist people on their journey. There are many paths to the mountaintop. I'm a science nerd at heart, and I strive to make recommendations based on current research and scientific knowledge. However, we live in this great, big world and there are many approaches to health to be considered. I believe we must be willing to explore beyond our edges and I do my best to integrate all nutritional perspectives to safely work toward optimal health. |
